I'm always on the look out for new mobile devices that could serve me better. DualCor just announced a very interesting device. Basically we're looking at a miniTablet + WindowsMobile device. Currently I'm carrying one of each. The phone's biggest advantage is its always-on status. I want to get notifications of email and meeting/task reminders all day, and laptops running XP just can't stay on all day.

 

I will definitely consider the DualCor device, but it looks to have downsides. The first being that it's screen is 800x480. I already struggle to be truly productive with an 800x600 screen. Losing more of that space just seems like a killer. Also, I'm not sure how big this will end up being, but if I can't keep my primary phone in my pants pocket then it's going to suck. I suppose you could try carrying a seconday phone, but you need gprs access to make the DualCor pc useful. Having another cellular account just for that would be too much even for me I think.

 

Anyway, we'll see what kind of reviews it gets. I don't think I'm going to jump on this one the first day.
